Iran has begun a four-day military exercise aimed at improving defence mechanisms at its nuclear sites.

A military statement carried by the official news agency IRNA says the exercises are being held over large areas of southern Iran and are meant as preparation for a probable military strike.

Iran has recently increased military exercises as international tensions grow over its alleged nuclear weapons program, with Israel saying they haven't ruled out military strikes.

Iranian leaders say their Shahab missiles have a range of two-thousand kilometres, meaning they could reach any part of Israel.
