Two of the four sisters caught up in an international custody battle have tried to flee their father's home in Italy.

All four sisters were taken to their father's home in Italy after they were deported from Australia following a Brisbane Family Court ruling.

They had been brought to Australia by their mother for a holiday in 2010 and never returned.

A Nine News television crew caught the dramatic scenes as two of the four sisters attempted to escape from their father's villa located outside of Florence.

'All of a sudden the two sisters came sprinting across the front yard. They were in hysterics followed closely by their father,' Nine News reporter Sophie Walsh said.

'At one point one of the girls grabbed onto my arm, she looked me in the eye and she had tears rolling down her face.'

'She said, 'Please you cannot leave me here. You have to take me away with you'.

The sisters' family back in Australia is reportedly contemplating their legal options in regards to the ongoing custody battle.
