Police still haven't released the names of five people killed in a collision between a four-wheel-drive and a semi trailer in southeast Queensland.

The accident happened about 3.30 yesterday afternoon (AEST) on the Bruce Highway between Childers and Howard.

The driver and four passengers in the four-wheel-drive were killed.

The truck driver was treated for shock and lacerations to his legs.

The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
