Political foes Anna Bligh and Campbell Newman have had an awkward run-in on the campaign trail in Townsville in north Queensland.
Labor minders said they didn't realise until the last minute that the leaders' paths would cross as they fronted for interviews at the city's ABC radio studio.
Premier Bligh and the Liberal National Party leader cordially shook hands and put on their election smiles as they posed briefly for the cameras.
Both gushed about enjoying being on the hustings, in their first run-in since the official campaign began on Sunday.
'I'm loving it,' Ms Bligh said, standing centimetres away from Mr Newman.
'We're having a great time,' Mr Newman said.
The encounter happened as Ms Bligh was leaving the studio and Mr Newman was heading in.
Mr Newman had to walk past the premier's election bus, parked outside the studio, with a two-metre tall picture of the Labor leader plastered on its side.
