Two Australian women on holiday in Namibia died when their overland tour truck rolled.
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) spokeswoman said a 22-year-old woman from NSW and a 27-year-old woman from Brisbane died on Wednesday in the accident in Usakos, Namibia.
Three other Australians who were in the vehicle were treated and discharged from hospital.
The spokeswoman said 12 people were in the truck when it rolled.
A senior consular official from the Australian High Commission in Pretoria has travelled to the site to assist the Australians and to liaise with local authorities.
DFAT also is providing consular assistance to the families in Australia.
The mother of a Jarrah Young, a 27-year-old Gold Coast veterinarian has paid tribute to her sunny, focused and driven daughter.
Brisbane nurse, 22-year-old Sarah Penberthy, also died in the accident.
A number of other tourists, including several Australians, were injured.
Ms Young's mum, Andrea Harris, says her daughter had been working in Kenya for the past year and has told ABC radio she lived life to the full.
Tributes have been also paid on Facebook to Ms Penberthy, who was originally from Inverell, in northern NSW.
