Forecasters say Adelaide is in for a record breaking heatwave, and they have warned the public to be 'sun-smart' as summer rapidly approaches.
Emergency services will have extra staff on stand-by to cater for the massive workload ahead, as forecasters are predicted temperatures of 35 degrees celcius for the next six days.
Temperatures in northern South Australia are expected to get even hotter, with Port Augusta expecting temperatures in the 40's.
Night-time weather will also be warm, with the nights ahead likely to be no lower than 20 degrees celsius.
