Australian captain Michael Clarke will return to grade cricket to play two fixtures for Western Suburbs in the Sydney competition this weekend.

With the club celebrating their 100th anniversary of cricket at their home ground, Pratten Park, one of their favourite sons will return as Wests take on North Sydney on Saturday.

The match began last week but Clarke was named on the team-sheet and will take part in his side's run chase of 383, with Western Sydney 1-13 in response.

Clarke will back up one day later in a Twenty20 fixture against Gordon, with big crowds expected to see the superstar batsman in action.

The 31-year-old will become the first Australian captain to play in the grade cricket in Sydney competition since Steve Waugh in 2003.
