Serb Ana Ivanovic has strolled into the second round of the Australian Open.
The 20th seed crushed American Shenay Perry in straight sets, winning 6-2 6-3.
But Ivanovic struggled to hold serve while trying to close out the match as Perry fought hard to stay in contention.
The Serb, winner of the French Open and a finalist in Australia in 2008, is out to prove she deserves a spot in the top 10 again.
She was ranked No.1 in June 2008 but her ranking has slipped to 21 in the world.
Ivanovic was knocked out in the third round in Melbourne last year.
