Pets will have no shortage of love this Valentine's Day, with owners expected to spend more than $46 million on their animal friends.
A survey by the World Society for the Protection of Animals found that more than one in three pet owners are planning on giving their pet a gift on February 14.
The biggest spenders will be dog owners, who're expected to spend 23-million-dollars, or an average of $6.82 per dog.
Cat owners are expected to spend eight-million-dollars, or an average of $4.11 per cat.
WSPA spokesman Rafi Cooper says it's wonderful to see how many Australians care for their pets.
