It's not everyone's cup of tea but a group of Chinese thrill seekers have litterally stepped up to the challenge and have taken part in a stairway motorcylce race.
The race was part of the Yunyang International Stairway Racing Festival in China's southwest and saw nearly 100 people from across China and Thailand race each other up a 700-step stairway.
Some early morning rain made the course no easy ride, with obstacels also placed along the stairs to try and trip the riders up.
The obstacles helped make the race thrilling for spectators too, with many in the crowd telling Reuters they were impressed by the rider's skills.
"I really love the motor race. I admire their guts. It's really thrilling," said one spectator.
The festival is a two-day event with local residents also racing each other on foot up the stairs before some brave sheep and cows take to the course.
