Sydney police have charged a man with attempted armed robbery after he wandered barefoot into a police station and asked for a pair of shoes.
Police allege the 22-year-old tried to rob a bottle shop in Warwick Farm, in the city's southwest, yesterday afternoon, but staff refused to give the man any cash and he left.
He later wandered barefoot into Liverpool police station and asked to borrow a pair of shoes, but officers matched him to a description circulated after the bottle shop incident.
He is due at Campbelltown Local Court later today.
