A woman's car has exploded - minutes after she bought it - when she drove it over a mattress.
After taking her new Mini Cooper for a drive, an hour after buying it, a 34-year-old Bondi woman ran over a mattress that was on the road at James Ruse Drive, Pennant Hills, in Sydney.
According to the Hills Shire Times, the mattress became lodged beneath the car and caused smoke to come out of the vehicle.
The woman pulled over and got out just before the car burst into flames.
