New South Wales firefighters are hopeful cooler temperatures will provide relief for fire crews, who've been battling up to 60 blazes.
Yesterday fire incidents were limited, despite temperatures soaring to near 40 degrees in some parts of the state.
The rural fire service says the break in conditions today, will allow firefighters to focus on blazes in the Narrabri, Lithgow and Glen Innes areas.
Total fire bans remain in place for the far North Coast, Greater Hunter, New England, Northern Slopes and North West regions.
