A man has thrown rocks at a convenience store worker in western Sydney before running off with a cash register, police say.
The man entered the shop on Wentworth Avenue, Pendle Hill at about 12.20am (AEST) on Saturday and threatened an employee with two large rocks, police said.
The man demanded the worker hand over cash, before throwing the rocks at him and stealing the cash register, they said.
The man, described as being of Asian appearance, ran from the store and was seen running onto railway tracks at the local station.
Police used dogs and Polair to search for the man, but did not find him
