Australian actors are considering strike action on all offshore commercials after receiving notice that a union agreement will be terminated next month.
The Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance says its Actors Equity section will hold a ballot next week to decide if a strike should be called on offshore commercials from August 7.
Actors say the Screen Producers Association of Australia decided to rip up the agreement without any warning or consultation.
