A 43-year-old female Brisbane driver allegedly eight times over the legal blood alcohol limit will face court after crashing into another vehicle, then fleeing the scene.

Police were called to a traffic accident on Redland Bay Road, Capalaba, just before 3.30pm (AEST) on Thursday.

Police say one of the vehicles involved in the crash allegedly left the scene and was located by police a short distance away.

Police say the female driver of the vehicle recorded a positive roadside breath test and in a further breath analysis she allegedly recorded a reading of 0.413 per cent.

A police media spokeswoman said due to her level of alleged intoxication she was released into the custody of a responsible person.

Investigations into the crash and alleged drink driving are continuing.

No injuries were sustained in the crash.

The police media spokeswoman said the Redland Bay woman will be issued with a notice to appear in court charged with drink driving (UIL).

A date is still to be set.
