Adelaide Zoo's only male lion, Mujambi, is recovering after surgery to find out if he has testicular cancer.
The 150-kilogram middle-aged lion underwent a three-hour operation yesterday after vets noticed something was wrong with the six-year-old lion late last year.
Senior veterinarian IAN SMITH says a testicular tumour was removed and had not spread, but only further tests would confirm it was cancerous.
