Cocaine, cannabis, a hunting knife, bayonet and soft body armour have been uncovered by police during a raid on a home in Sydney's south.

A 25-year-old man was stopped by police after he threw a small bag believed to contain drugs into a silver BMW parked on Evans Street, Sans Souci, about 9.30pm (AEDT) on Friday.

The officers said they had to physically subdue the man before searching him.

In their search of the BMW, they found a bag containing a quantity of methyl-amphetamine, MDMA tablets, cocaine, cannabis and a sum of cash.

The man was subsequently charged with a number of drug offences and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.

About 9.30am (AEDT) on Saturday, offers raided a home on Evans Street, Sans Souci.

They allegedly seized a quantity of MDMA, cocaine and cannabis, a hunting knife, a bayonet, soft body armour and three bicycles.
