Homicide squad detectives investigating the death of a Victorian prisoner last year are appealing to the wider public for information.
Colin David Johnson died in hospital last May after being assaulted at Fulham Prison on April 23.
Investigators believe the 53-year-old was attacked in the day room area of the Yeerung Unit within the correctional facility.
Detective Inspector John Potter says police are appealing not only to prisoners but to anyone in the community for information.
