A man who stabbed his two-year-old daughter to death to avenge the breakdown of his relationship has lost a bid to appeal his life sentence.

24-year-old Ramazan Acar posted a chilling message on Facebook before murdering the toddler in November 2010.

Justice Mark Weinberg has today rejected the killer's application for leave to appeal his life sentence, with a 33-year minimum term.

Outside Victorian Court of Appeal, Rachelle D'Argent, the mother of two-year-old victim Yazmina, says she's happy with the decision.
