Australian shares have closed higher on improved confidence after the Greek parliament voted for austerity measures to secure an international bailout for the debt-ridden nation.
At the 1615 AEDT close on Monday, Australia's benchmark SP/ASX200 index was up 39.8 points or 0.94 per cent at 4,285.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was at 4,359.4, up 36.8 points or 0.85 per cent.
On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was up 34 points at 4,252, with 29,621 contracts traded.
