Australian stocks close lower

The Australian share market closed lower on Monday dragged down by weakness in the mining and energy sector as investors wait for companies in the US to start reporting their financial results.

At the 4.15 pm AEST close the ASX200 index had fallen 44.5 points .. or 1.16 per cent to 3,783.7 points while the broader All Ordinaries index dropped 42.4 points or 1.11 per cent to 3,784.2 points.
