Britney Spears' mother Lynne Spears says the singer's former manager Sam Lutfi tried to take over her daughter's life.
Sam Lutfi is suing Lynne Spears for defamation after she called him a 'predator' in her 2008 book 'Through the Storm' but when she took the stand on Friday, Lynne stood by her claims and said he was a terrible influence on her daughter.
She said: 'He wanted to take over her life. He wanted her life to be his life. And the way he dealt with the paparazzi, that made him a predator, because they were all over her, in her house. She had no privacy.'
Sam allegedly told Lynne that he used to 'grind up Britney's pills ... and put them in her food,' and she insisted everything in her book was true.
She said: 'These were his exact words and this was the story I told.'
Lynne also explained she was terrified about her daughter's state of mind but didn't call the police as she was unsure about what to do.
She said: 'I was very worried and I didn't know what to do, so I was trying to get her away from there.'
