Broadcaster Derryn Hinch has successfully undergone surgery to replace drainage stents in his liver.
The Melbourne-based talkback radio host, who underwent a liver transplant last year, told followers on his Twitter account the planned surgery at the Austin Hospital on Monday morning was a success.
'Operation successful. Three new stents. All systems flow. Back in recovery ward. Thanks for kind wishes,' Hinch tweeted about 11.30am.
Hinch will not host his regular drive show on Fairfax Radio's 3AW on Monday afternoon, with Peter Maher to fill in.
Hinch's producer Shannon Reid said the broadcaster would definitely be back on air from Tuesday afternoon.
