A woman whose phone has been bombarded with hundreds of fans wanting to speak to US star Soulja Boy is offering to head up his UK fan club.
Catriona Howard Smith and her husband Gerry Matley from Oldham in Greater Manchester, have received between 50-60 calls a day after their number featured in Soulja Boy's latest hit Kiss Me Thru The Phone.
It all began four weeks ago when the track was released in the UK.
'At first we thought it was just prank phone calls,' Ms Howard Smith told Sky News Online.
'But then our daughter told us that Soulja Boy is an American rap star. I had never heard of him!'
The award-winning aritst recites the first seven digits of the couple's phone number during the chorus of his track, which peaked at number six in the UK charts.
The callers have been a mix of male and female teenage fans who really believe they are phoning the hip-hop star.
'When we answer the phone we would have to tell them 'you have phoned a phone in Oldham. This is not Soulja Boy'.
'Then they would say: 'Are you sure? Are you his Mum?''
Ms Howard Smith and her husband have both taken the huge influx in phone calls very well.
'It's quite amusing really,' said the Oldham mum. 'And you can't be angry with them.
'Their bubble has already burst when they get me on the phone instead of Soulja Boy.
'It must be really disappointing for them.'
Now she has got to know the fans, Ms Howard Smith is even willing to take up her husband's suggestion and run the UK fan base.
'It wouldn't be such a bad thing,' she told Sky News Online. 'I have spoken to the vast majority of them now and they are all very polite. We've had no abuse.'
But her services would come at a price. 'I wouldn't do it for nothing,' she laughed.
Sky News has tried to get in contact with the music label, but so far have not received any comment.
'We don't want to have to change our number. It would be a last resort,' they said but added they would though be willing to sell it to Soulja Boy.
If the full number on Kiss Me Thru The Phone is dialled after the country code for the US, callers hear a recorded message from Soulja Boy.
But, the Oldham couple, whose number is ex-directory, are surprised the music label did not consider the impact it would have when released in the UK.
'It should have been checked before the song was released. I am sure there are laws in America as there are in the UK,' said Ms Howard Smith.
Soulja Boy had a US number one hit in 2007 with Crank That (Soulja Boy) which appeared on the HBO series Entourage.
The track also won him a gong at the BET Hip Hop awards in 2007.
