A Western Australian man who shot a teenager in the head, when a gun he was cleaning went off, has been charged with manslaughter.
Police say the 29-year-old man's gun went off, fatally shooting an 18-year-old in the head at a residence in Hope Valley near Perth on May 27.
Detectives initially charged the Baldivis man with possessing a firearm with circumstances of aggravation.
But now police say detectives have charged him also with manslaughter, following a review of the evidence.
The man was refused bail during a court appearance and is due back in court tomorrow.
